no sugar's store for baby, kids and womens boutique clothing (Hudson Valley, Rhinebeck, NY) was formed in 2003 by Monique Heeremans and her husband Michiel van Dijk, both from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Pregnant with their first child, they discovered a desperate need for baby clothes without the frills and 'sugar coating' that seemed to be so eminent in everyday baby fashion.

Thus the name 'no sugar' was born and initially the store was called 'no sugar baby'.

no sugar first imported mostly northern European brands baby boutique clothes from small, innovative designers who emphasize quality of design and choice of fabric and combine it with current fashion trends. Later the collection was expanded to include global design & fashion interests.

During the next year the age range was extended to include toddler and kids.
